Member Recognition

Last week Ashley recognized the following "Rotarians Being Good": Jerry Balint for offering Guardians tickets for our New Member Drawing, Chuck Cury for providing assistance in the breakfast line, and Mary Kaminski and Joyce Reed for cleaning and organizing the Rotary Closet.

StrongFest

The event will benefit the Town Center Initiative in addition to other Rotary projects throughout the year.  The Town Center Initiative will enhance the center of Strongsville, and provide a better space for events like StrongFest in years to come.

If you have a corn hole game, or other outdoor game that you want to bring to the event please let Jeff Ellis know.

We are currently focused on selling tickets, and recruiting volunteers.

If you are on Facebook visit the event page at https://fb.me/e/3p1iknGIf mark yourself "Going" or "Interested", and share the event and invite your friends.

Speaker

Our speaker was BGen Peter Collins, USMC (Ret.) of the USS Cleveland Foundation who talked about the new USS Cleveland that is currently being built.  The foundation will pay for the commissioning ceremony, that will happen Labor Day weekend 2024 in conjunction with airshow in Cleveland.

The foundation will also  be involved during the ship's active service educating the crew about Cleveland so they can be proud of ship.

After the ship is retired from active service it will return to Cleveland and become a museum alongside the Mather.
