Ken Dooner was recognized as Rotarian of the Month for June for his efforts with the Kids Fest and Duck Race, both before the event, and all day during the event.

At Friday's meeting the beneficiaries of the Kids Fest Duck Race were present to receive their donations.

 

Kim Harris from Pathway Caring for Children was present to receive a $5,000 check as the primary beneficiary.

 

Brian Zimmerman and Jim Rodstrom were present from the Cleveland Metroparks and received a $2,000 check.  The funds will be used to improve the Metroparks in Strongsville, and there is still additional upgrades for the Albion Shelter planned.

 

Jeff Johansen accepted a $500 check on behalf of Grace Church, who have always been big supporters of the Kids Fest.

The VFW Golf Outing will be August 11th, that the club will be sponsoring.  Jim Karecki has forms if you want to golf.  Please let John know if you will be golfing on the 11th as it does conflict with our Friday meeting, so we can adjust the food appropriately.

Districts 6630, 6650 and 6600 have organized a baseball game to benefit End Polio Now on August 17th against the Tigers.  There are a variety of ticket options available that you can order online.  Also talk to Bruce Kahn about tickets to win the chance to throw out the first pitch at a future game.
