New Member Bio
Jenni Pelko gave her bio. She is the assistant superintendent of the school district, and in her ninth year in that role. She taught Spanish at the high school before becoming an assistant principal at Center Middle school, then principal, and now assistant superintendent where she oversees human resources and over 800 employees in the district.
She has a daughter who is a junior at Ohio State, a son who is a freshman at Miami, and a junior in high school. Her husband is the police chief in Elyria.
Her Rotary journey might have began when she worked at Mapleside, and was asked to be a server when the Brunswick Rotary would meet there on Thursday mornings.

We celebrated January birthdays for Dan Sage (7th), Pete Nixon (10th), Christine Floerke (16th), Barb Davis (20th), Jamie Debenham (30th) and Charlie Cury (31st). Also celebrating Rotary anniversaries were Jay Dzurilla (42 years) and Bill Walsh (34 years).
Program
Our speaker was Megan Barrett from the Strongsville branch of the Cuyahoga County Public Library. She shared many of the resources that the library has that residents and small business may not be aware of in addition to the traditional lending of books they are known for.
The library provides passport services, and can take pictures and get the application forms all filled out. Now is the perfect time to apply if you plan on traveling this summer.
They have a variety of meeting rooms that can handle from 30 to 130 people, so if you need space for an event or meeting. In addition they have both an audio and video recording studio that is well equipped, and has lots of great editing software available, including the Adobe suite. Also available are study rooms if you need a quiet space to work, or attend a Zoom meeting. You can also use their Zoom license to host a large Zoom meeting, or longer than the free Zoom allows if you need to do so.
On top of that is access to a wide range of digital resources, including investment databases like Value Line, online reference databases, genealogy databases, consumer reports and more, as well as access to ebooks and online movies, tv, and music. Almost all of which you can access from home with your library card.
