Becky Piper gave the invocation and led the pledge.
Students
We had members from the cross country team visit us. It is a young team with a lot of freshmen and sophomores on the team. They trained to be doing their best at the state tournament, with personal records being set almost every race. They finished second in a tough conference, eighth at the regionals, which is the toughest region in the state, and 14 at the state meet.
New Member Induction
We inducted Christine Floerke to the club. She was introduced to the club by Dave Geier, and is a health and life coach.
New Member Bio
Becky Piper gave her new member bio. She grew up in the cornfields of Indiana, doing errands for a nickel so she chould buy a snickers bar, and setting the record for being in the most plays.
She met Dale at Purdue University, first, when their fraternity and sorority were in a singing competition. They worked in the cruise business for a long time.
Announcements
- Winter Wonderland November 19th. We will be serving hot chocolate and treats. We will have a signup list at the meeting Friday, or you can signup on ClubRunner.
- Senior Christmas Lunch will be December 1st, and Photos with Santa Dec 2nd. Signups will be at the meeting tomorrow, and are also online.
Speaker
We had a number of speakers for Veterans Day. Sgt Ryan Acker from the Ohio Army National Guard, who provided his perspective on Veterans Day from the oldest service, having started in 1636.
Bill Gordon, Bob Schmieler and Bruce Kahn then gave a brief personal account of their time in the services.
Dave Maloney followed with a presentation on the new military exhibit at the Strongsville Historical Society. He is Scott's son, and was disappointed in the way that the military items were stored and displayed, and worked on giving the items, all belonging to Strongsville residents, a fitting home and displaying them in a manner befitting them.
