Queen of Hearts

Pat Greco's table won the The Queen of Hearts drawing and is responsible for putting up the banners and selling tickets next meeting in the new year.  There are 27 cards left and the pot is currently $706.

Coronivirus Surge

Due to the current surge in infections we have asked the senior center to have tables set for four, which will allow people to have more space at each table, and we recommend wearing a mask when not eating.

In addition if you are not comfortable meeting in person please contact Rob Simon to request a Leave of Absence which will last for the period of the surge.  You won't be charged for the breakfast, and we can adjust the seating appropriately.

Tornado Relief #2

Our Strongsville Rotary Foundation donated $2,000 that was sent to Rotary Districts in Kentucky and Tennessee to aid their recovery efforts after the devastation caused by the tornados which destroyed many homes and businesses.

In addition Manjit Khuban sent the following message:

Thank you for donating to the second blanket drive for Kentucky. Your efforts motivated others to join the drive and we ended up with contributions from CVS Pharmacy/Caremark, Penske Trucking, Huntington Bank and Rotary Club of Strongsville. We were able to donate over 530 blankets, 500 first aid kits, 500 sanitizers, 6,000 masks. Total value was approximately $13,000. Donations were dropped off in Elizabethtown,  Kentucky (for Dawson Springs victims)  and  Franklin, Kentucky (for Bowling Green victims) and a drug rehab center. In Elizabethtown, our donations were received by Bryan Flowers, husband of Rotarian Kaitlyn Flowers. In Franklin, our donations were received by Janette Boehman, President Rotary Club of Bowling Green Kentucky and Rotarian and pro-tem Mayor Sue Parrigin. We had some money left over which will be directed to Strongsville Rotary ($1,000) and Seva Food bank in Canada ($600).

This is a great way to end 2021 and may we all continue to keep our warm hearts open to those in need for 2022. Bless you all.🙏
