Sean Grandage's table won the table drawing and are responsible for putting up the banners and selling tickets this week. There are 22 cards left and the Queen is worth $925.

Invite a Guest Meeting

At our October 27 meeting we’ll be having the mayor as our guest speaker talking about the State of the City. This is a great opportunity to invite a prospective member. We’ve had some momentum with bringing new members in, the club has been doing a great job, we have to keep it up.

Harry Fuehrer Community Service Award

The Strongsville Rotary Foundation is soliciting nominations for this year's Harry Fuehrer Community Service Award. The Harry Fuehrer Annual Community Service Award recognizes an individual or couple who has/have provided exemplary community service to Strongsville over an extended period. Applications can be downloaded online, or ask for one from John Turnbull or Ashley Gay at the meeting. Nominations are due by October 27th.

New Member Inductions

We welcomed four new members to the club Friday: Becky Piper, Ted Sawicki, Kim Harris and Ron Kubalski. If you haven't had a chance to welcome them to the club yet please do so.

Announcements

The newly launched club walking group is starting with the walk Pat Hayes is organizing a team for the Walk to End Alzheimers on Saturday October 21st at the zoo. Visit our Team Page to register, as all walkers must register.
Historical Society Fall Cleanup will be on November 4th. We will have a signup list at the meeting Friday, or you can signup on ClubRunner.
The Strongsville Community Band will be partnering with the Rotary to raise money for the victims of the fires in Maui. The concert will be at 7pm on November 8th in the Rec Center Event Center. The Strongsville Rotary Foundation will match up to $2,000 of donations made either at the concert, or online at https://trcs.info/maui
Winter Wonderland November 19th. We will be serving hot chocolate and treats. We will have a signup list at the meeting Friday, or you can signup on ClubRunner.

Visitor

Charter member Art Basa visited the club with his wife as they were visiting from the Philippines, where Art is a member of our sister Rotary Club there. He shared some recollections of his time in the club, and was happy to see the club still growing.
