Meeting Recap
Students
Our students this week were the Interact club from the high school, which is a service club sponsored by the Rotary Club. They are working on a recycling project at the high school, and the club presented a check to the Interact Club to assist with buying bags and other materials used when collecting recyclables.
Speaker
Our speaker was David Nodge, Community Liason with the Major Unusual Incident Community of the Cuyahoga Board of Developmental Disabilities. He covered what sort of incidents the team investigates, how they partner with first responders. Some of the top categories that they investigate are unscheduled hospitalization, significant injury and misappropriation/exploitation.
When partnering with first responders they introduce them to community members before incidents happen so they are more comfortable with each other if a response is needed.
New Member Bio
Sean Kilbane is a Strongsville native who grew up down the street from the Gigliottis. Growing up his passion was baseball, but after tearing his rotator cuff a second time he decided maybe that wasn't a career for him. He next considered joining the family business and studied business at University of Dayton, but hated it, and switched to political science, then law, and fell in love with criminal law.
He works in the Cuyahoga County prosecutor's office major trial unit in a position created last year working on juvenile homicides as it has become such a large issue.
Rotarian of the Month
Colton presented Brian Krusz an award as Rotarian of the Month for April.
