Grant Ideas
In the next few weeks if we want to get a matching grant from the district we need to come up with an idea for a project. The past years we have received a matching grant to perform maintenance on Safety Town, enhance the Freedom Trail, and purchase a new trailer for Boy Scout Troop 701.
Generally to be eligible the projects should be need based, with measurable outcomes that align with the mission of the Rotary Foundation, and include active Rotarian participation. More details guidelines are available. Please bring any project ideas to either Scott Maloney or the Club (Ashley Gay President) or Foundation (Bill DeMarco President) Boards.
Meeting Recap
Dave Shuey gave the invocation and led the pledge.
Youth Protection officer
As part of it's commitment to keeping young people safe the club needs a youth protection officer. This is a board level position, and responsible for being aware of the rules for dealing with youth. The primary responsibilities are being aware of the common sense rules when interacting with minors, educating the club, and making sure we are compliant. Since we are not hosting an exchange student there should not be any in depth work required.
District Grants Committee Representative
Scott Maloney has been our representative on the district grants committee for the past four years. A big thank you to Amy Kocian for agreeing to be our representative on the committee.
Vice President
The club is also looking for a vice president for the 2023-24 Rotary Year. The vice president sits on the board, and has responsibility for evaluating charitable requests and making recommendations to the board.
Arbor Day
Good Friday Program
A big thank you to Ken Mehalko, who brought Mike Elkins and Cindy Smith as musicians to provide a musical celebration of Good Friday, with the participation of Bruce Keenen and Pastor Heidi.
