Speaker

Our speakers were the STEMStangs Robotics Club.  At the beginning of their time Bruce Kahn presented a check for $250 from the club to sponsor them.  They are not an official high school club, as they spend a lot of time meeting and working on their robots, including during the Christmas break and over 40 hours a week, which exceeds what the high school can support.

They are in their seventh year, and every year participate in the First Tech Challenge competition, where they receive a challenge in September, and then set about designing and building their robot.  Last year's challenge was a robot that could pick up and stack traffic cones.

Members are Strongsville City Schools students, from both the middle and high schools, and they do offer sponsorships to fund the parts to build the robots.  At the beginning of their time Bruce Kahn presented a check for $250 from the club to sponsor them. Their presentation was so effective that club members came up with an additional $544 that was presented at the end of the meeting.
