Speaker

Our speaker was Erin Goldsmith, the Ronald McDonald Family Room Manager at the Cleveland Clinic.
In addition to the Ronald McDonald House that has rooms where families can stay near the hospital there are rooms located inside the hospitals for families of children who are in a critical state, and being able to stay only a couple of minutes away can make all the difference.
The house and family rooms let families stay near their children in hospital without incurring the expense of hotels and meals etc. The house has a kitchen where dinner is made every day, and during Covid they started a boxed lunch program for the people in the family room at the hospital, which was so popular they kept that going.
In addition to the room and food the house has a garden where siblings can play, and they also have an educational program where they educated the child's siblings on why they are in hospital, and what's going on.
