Students
Last week the Key Club visited our club. They are a student club associated with the Kiwanis, and perform service projects including working with Harvest for Hunger and the National Mental Help Alliance.
Rotarian of the Month
Ashley recognized Gene Mark as Rotarian of the Month for dedication to the club, and helping out with all our events.
Chili Open
Kevin Lynch is organizing a memorial banner for Eddy Bond and Jim Jumpa at the Chili Open. If you would like to donate towards the banner you can being a check payable to the Strongsville Rotary Foundation to the meeting, or visit
https://trcs.info/donate and select Memorial Donation, and enter a note indicating it is for Eddy and Jim.
We do still need plenty of volunteers to help prepare the event, in particular finding auction items, corporate sponsors, and sharing the event to get golfers registered.
If you are able to help out between now and the end of February please talk to TJ or another Chili Open committee member. Help is particularly needed with the corporate sponsor and auction committees.
In honor of the 30th anniversary tickets are $30 until February 14th, $50 thereafter and at the doo. Foursomes are available for $120 both in advance and at the door. We are also selling VIP tickets this year for $125, with a minimum purchase of 2. Tickets are currently on sale on the website

Speaker

Our speaker was Judge Andrew Santoli, who lives in Strongsville and was elected as a Judge of the Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas in November 2020, having previously been a prosecutor. He is in charge of the Veteran's Treatment Court.
The Veteran's Treatment Court is one of a number of speciality courts in Cuyahoga County that also include drug courts and mental health courts. Speciality courts have been shown to reduce recidivism. Veteran's who pick up a criminal charge may have the option of going to the Veteran's Treatment Court where they work with members of the community including the VA, Tri-C and other state agencies to get their clients (the veterans) the services they need to get back on track in an intense probation system. They also have a volunteer mentorship program.
