Text Update Service

The club does now have a text messaging system so we can send important updates out to the club.  We anticipate 1 or 2 messages a week at most, for example reminders of Friday meetings and location changes.  If you want to subscribe text "ROTARY" followed by your name to (833) 285-6105.  Your name will help if you have any questions or for support.

Chili Open

Support the Strongsville Rotary and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society with a chance to win $10,000 at https://chiliopen.com/raffle  Online raffle ticket sales end next weekend, so if you want a deal on raffle tickets now is the time.

Students

The Winter Formal Dance Council came to visit.  The DECA program puts on the Winter Formal Dance as a fundraiser for them to go to the national competition, in Anaheim this year, as well as a way to give back to the school and have fun.

Program

Our speaker was Dan Cricks who talked about resilience, the pursuit of the American dream, and overcoming adversity. Dan shared personal experiences and also had Chelsea and Colton share their stories to illustrate that success is attainable through perseverance, hard work, and a positive mindset.

Key points include rejecting victimhood, the importance of mentorship, giving back to the community, and the power of self-belief. Dan encouraged the audience, especially the students who were in attendance both with Mike Rodak from the middle school, and the high school students, to believe in their potential, learn from challenges, and actively work towards their dreams, highlighting that everyone has the capacity for excellence and that current struggles do not define one's future.
