Cuyahoga County citizens: It's your responsibility to hold your public servants accountable, noted Frank Figliuzzi, Special Agent in Charge of the FBI's Cleveland Division.
Figliuzzi, who spoke at the club's October 22 meeting, hit the nail on the head when asked why the widespread corruption that has plagued the county wasn't detected until now.

"When we (the FBI) have to come in and fix your problems, it's too late," he said. "It's not our job to hold your public officials accountable. That's your job."
Figliuzzi, who was making his last public appearance before transferring to Washington DC where he was promoted to the position of deputy assistant director, was the ongoing federal investigation into political corruption in Cuyahoga County, is "far from over."
The Cleveland FBI office has 365 agents. Its top priority is to prevent the "next act of terror," Figliuzzi said. He said 14 terror-related arrests have been made in Cleveland over the past year. The FBI has offices located all over the globe, and seven Cleveland-based agents have been deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan to break down terrorist activities.
